Sight-On-Site
Complementing the support offered by NCBA, Sight On Site (under contract to Supporting People) enable vision impaired people within Northumberland to live independently and manage their tenancies by providing a wide range of housing related support services. This can range from liasing with other organisations, advising on financial issues or dealing with the safety and security of the home.
"As an enabling service we will encourage an individual to do things for themselves rather than doing things for them; we will provide the support and resources and where necessary teach the required skills. Our primary aim is to promote and maintain the independence of vision impaired people".
Sight On Site currently has two Vision Support Workers who provide regular assistance to a set of designated clients.
The service is available in all areas of Northumberland and all vision impaired people, whether or not they are registered are eligible to be assessed for this service.
